I was born in Brussels in 1966, to a German father and a Belgian mother. I grew up in Belgium and my parents, who were art enthusiasts, encouraged my brother and me to visit many places of historical importance and art museums. We were also fortunate to travel with them to foreign countries, to see different landscapes and learn about other cultures. After finishing high school in 1984, I immigrated to Israel. My first 14 years in Israel were spent in Jerusalem. I received an M.A. degree at Hebrew University in Japanese studies and as a result, I spent one year studying at the International Christian University in Tokyo. In 2000, I moved to Tel Aviv and began looking for a studio where I could learn the art of mosaic making. I was lucky enough to discover the studio of Sarit Pilz-Granit in Ramat Hasharon, Israel. For the past four years I have worked under the guidance of Sarit, and in addition opened my own studio in January 2005. Since then, I have attended mosaic workshops in Italy and Switzerland with reknown Mosaic Masters.
